Advancing Circular Water Management – RESURGENCE Consortium Meeting in Monza, Italy
On January 29-30, 2025, the RESURGENCE project partners gathered for the 3rd Consortium Meeting, hosted by Pozzi Leopoldo srl. The event focused on advancing industrial water reuse, resource recovery, and energy efficiency in the pulp & paper, chemical, and steel industries, key sectors in the transition toward a circular economy.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review project progress, exchange insights, and align on future developments. Partners discussed circularity indicators, energy-efficient solutions, and innovations in industrial wastewater treatment. Strane Innovation presented the first results of circularity metrics assessed at pilot sites, supporting the project’s goal of improving sustainability and reducing environmental impact.
A highlight of the event was a visit to Pozzi Leopoldo srl, a family-owned business established in 1885. With 140 years of expertise, Pozzi Leopoldo has developed advanced heat exchangers that recover energy from industrial wastewater, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions and operational costs. Their innovative approach has positioned them as a global leader in energy-efficient solutions for industrial applications.
Funded by the Horizon Europe programme, RESURGENCE aims to enhance the resilience of European industries to droughts by optimizing water reuse and improving resource efficiency. The next consortium meeting will take place in October 2025 to further advance these objectives.
