Organik Kimya Shares Insights on Water Recovery Transformation in RESURGENCE Project Interview

The RESURGENCE project has released a new interview with the partners from Organik Kimya, highlighting the company’s efforts to transform water management at its Istanbul-based chemical production facility, as part of Case Study 2.

In this compelling discussion, Yasin Gökçe, Cemre Ateş, Dilara Bakan, and Murat Özkaspar from Organik Kimya share their perspectives on the company’s sustainability journey, the challenges they’ve faced, and the expected impact of their collaboration with the RESURGENCE project.

Before joining the project, Organik Kimya’s site recovered only 10% of 225 m³/day of industrial wastewater. There was no heat or energy recovery, and inefficient recovery of solids and substances—resulting in significant environmental and operational inefficiencies.

Thanks to RESURGENCE, the company is now on track to:

  • Achieve up to 95% freshwater recovery for reuse in cooling towers
  • Protect ecosystems and biodiversity by preventing water pollution
  • Improve process management and resource efficiency
  • Significantly reduce waste volumes
