RESURGENCE Technical Visit to Celsa Huta Ostrowiec in Poland

On July 24, 2024, the RESURGENCE project arranged a technical visit to Celsa Huta Ostrowiec, a steel plant located in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, Poland. This visit was organised to gain detailed insights into the plant’s current wastewater treatment processes, aligning with the project’s mission to foster sustainability and advance the circular economy in European industries.

Insights to Drive Circularity

The visit enabled RESURGENCE partners to collect vital data on the facility’s water usage, treatment methods, and the potential for effluent reuse. This information will contribute to the development of circularity indicators, critical metrics that help industries assess and improve resource efficiency. By focusing on wastewater management and recycling, the RESURGENCE project seeks to transform industrial practices to be more resource-efficient and environmentally responsible.

Representatives from key RESURGENCE partners, including CETIM, Strane Innovation, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pozzi Leopoldo, FER and CELSA, actively participated in the visit. Their combined expertise will help integrate the findings from Celsa Huta Ostrowiec into broader strategies to improve water management practices across other industrial sectors.
