RESURGENCE to Host Water Projects Europe Event on Industrial Water Circularity and Resource Recovery
The RESURGENCE Project is pleased to announce the upcoming 3rd Water Projects Europe (WPE) clustering event, “Circularity in Industrial Water,” scheduled to take place online on May 28, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This strategic gathering brings together a powerful consortium of flagship Horizon Europe-funded projects, including CORNERSTONE and R3VOLUTION, both launched under the Processes4Planet partnership coordinated by A.SPIRE. The MEloDIZER project will also join the session to provide additional perspectives on innovative water reuse and waste stream valorisation, creating a comprehensive dialogue on the future of industrial resource management.
Co-organised with Water Europe, the event is centered on the urgent need to transition from linear use-and-discharge models toward circular approaches that recover significant value from industrial wastewater. As European industry faces intensifying water stress, rising energy costs, and stricter environmental mandates, traditional management systems are increasingly viewed as unsustainable.
By redefining wastewater as a source for recovering water, heat, energy, and secondary raw materials, the participating projects aim to strengthen industrial resilience while reducing overall environmental pressures under real-world conditions. This transition represents not only a technological challenge but also a complex operational, economic, and regulatory shift that requires a shared space for innovation and strategic exchange.
Through this clustering action, RESURGENCE and its partners seek to foster deep synergies and accelerate the uptake of circularity solutions across the continent. The event serves as a dedicated forum for initiatives working toward common objectives to compare technical approaches, identify shared barriers, and highlight clear pathways for replication. By aligning with the Water Europe vision and the broader transition toward a Water-Smart Society, this collaboration will increase the visibility of circular solutions and support the widespread implementation of project results across diverse industrial sectors.
The RESURGENCE Project encourages stakeholders from across the water, energy, and industrial sectors to join this dialogue and contribute to the collective effort of defining the industry of tomorrow. Registration for the online event is now open through the official project channels. For more information, please visit the official webpage.
